Sony Annouces the A77 DSLR

Sony announced it’s latest HDSLR, the A77. The new camera has some features DSLR shooters have been clamoring for. With the new AVCHD (v2) you can shoot 1080/60p and 24p (or 1080/50p and 25p if using PAL.) Manual controls have been implemented. The view screen is positionable which should help with some of the odd set ups people have found to shoot comfortably with a DSLR. All of this, plus a 24.3MP sensor.

One thing not clear in the press release was how the A77 handles audio. Whether audio will be manually controlled (like the video features) or set to auto, we’ll have to wait and see.

The A77 ships in Oct. for $1399 (body only.)
